Anna ends his 'maun vrat' at Rajghat

Social activist Anna Hazare today broke his 'vow of silence' for the past 19 days after paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat here. The 74-year-old Hazare visited Gandhi's memorial at around 7 am and broke his 'maun vrat', observed since Oct 16, saying 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' aloud.

Shanti Bhushan only Team Anna member to donate money

Former Law Minister Shanti Bhushan is the only prominent Team Anna member who has donated money to the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare, giving Rs four lakh from his pocket.
Bhushan's Rs four lakh is part of over Rs 2.51 crore collected as donations by Team Anna in the six months starting from April one this year, according to the list of donors provided by India Against Corruption.

Team Anna says that they don't need any security

A day after Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal was attacked, the government, according to sources, has been putting extra emphasis on Anna Hazare's security. Sources tell media that a thorough security review is being conducted even as Team Anna says that they don't need any security.

The Union home ministry said on Wednesday that it has received inputs from local agencies on a possible threat to social activist Anna Hazare's life, according to media reports.

Ready to face bullets to eradicate corruption: Anna Hazare

Team Anna and political parties Tuesday condemned the slipper attack on activist Arvind Kejriwal as unacceptable and unfortunate while Anna Hazare said he is not deterred and that his group is ready to face'bullets'to eradicate corruption.

Cash for vote scam: Amar Singh bail plea till September 12

A Delhi court on Friday deferred hearing into former Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh's bail plea till September 12 in connection with the 2008 cash-for-votes scam. According to the Tihar jail authorities Amar Singh was not carrying his medical records, based on which he applied for an interim bail.
Singh, who was arrested on Tuesday, is presently lodged at Delhi's Tihar Jail. He has been remanded in judicial custody till September 19. Digvijay express sympathy for former SP leader Amar Singh

Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Friday expressed sympathy for the beleaguered former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh who was arrested in the cash-for-vote scam case two days ago.
"I have full sympathy for Amar Singh and I believe that he will be proved innocent,"Digvijay Singh told media at Raghogarh.
He also strongly condemned Wednesday's blast outside the Delhi High Court and asked people not to politicise the issue of terrorism.
